Do you guys just randomly think about the olden days for some odd reason. Well, I do.

My question is, why does entertainment exist? And how did it come about?

Before entertainment existed, the prime reason for jobs to exist was to make the world a better place. To keep human beings alive and make them live longer and happy lives. Those days there were only doctors, military, farmers, accountants, teachers, etc. But then, humans decided to give further impact on society. Later, authors, musicians, actors, and directors started to become popular. Now what was the purpose of this?

No, I don’t mean just movies. Anything that can please an audience and makes them have fun can be entertainment. Even games and celebrations can be types of entertainment. Anyways the reason for this was to lighten up the spirits in people and to just make people take their mind of work.

But here’s the thing. You’re supposed to keep your mind of work, right? But what about the actors. Their whole job is for entertainment. And it’s not like that can be their only source of income. Most actors have other jobs too. They can’t just rely on some random director to hunt you down and say, “Hey want to do a movie or a TV series”. So that’s kind of sad for some actors. Except for people who love acting go and live happy lives.

Now guess who gets more credit. The entertainers or the people who you need to survive. It’s the entertainers. It’s always them. They always get more popular. Unless it’s a new president or someone who saved someone and got filmed, the other jobs don’t seem to get too much of appreciation. And should I tell you why?

Technology my friends.

Due to the internet, people will only appreciate someone if they see it happening in some video. People don’t just sit and think about how much trouble all these people go through. Some people might not even care. But if they see a video about it then they will comment stuff like “What a legend”. That is not the case for entertainers. The reason for that is that they are always on the internet or on TV. You will always get to know when an author has published a new book or when a new movie is releasing. Even if you don’t follow the internet too much or watch TV, you will meet someone or find a library where you can get a good book. Due to this, people think that these other jobs aren’t that interesting or aren’t very challenging.

Uh hello? You think being a banker is easy? You think being a doctor is boring?

They are practically the reason you’re alive right now. Also, people think you will become a superstar if you publish a book or act in a movie. People think these jobs are incredible and so profitable and so fun. I’m not saying all of that is false but still. Give some credit to the other people. They think that because these jobs tend to be more popular and why do they become popular. Again, technology.

Now I’m not saying don’t give any credit to the entertainers. Those jobs are also not that easy. Do you know how hard it is to get a good storyline for a movie or book to give impact on the audience? Do you know how much pain the game makers will have to go through while making the game fair and fun by testing it? Do you know how hard it is to cry on purpose for the sake of some recorded scene? So, are you getting my point? Don’t give less credit or more credit for these jobs. Treat them equally. But do know this, the jobs which don’t entertain have just a little more importance.

Now what are the advantages of entertainment. They help you relieve stress. That is probably the most important thing to think about. Ever feel like you are low on money, or you are failing an exam. If you want to get your mind of things, just read a book, or watch some Netflix. They also keep you entertained and happy for a long time. Trust me. It takes a while for me and my friends to get bored of something.

Now what are the disadvantages of entertainment. They could distract you from your own life. Be careful about that. Also, if you get addicted to it, it could give you mental health issues. Be careful about that too.

Now if you ask me what I think about entertainment I say I LOVE ITT!!!! No seriously I think that without entertainment this world would be very depressing. Like what would you even talk about?

“Uh so how was your day?”

“Good man, how was yours?”

“Good bro”

“So umm, what do you eat normally?”

“Mostly rice and cereal”

“Now way, me too”

“What do you do”

“I’m a neurosurgeon”

“Wow. That’s cool”

“So, like, what do you do at home?”

“I eat breakfast, I go to work for a few hours, I come back, I eat lunch, I take a little nap, I work some more, I eat dinner and then I go to sleep”

“Isn’t that what everyone does?”

“Yeah, life isn’t very fun”

“Well, this is awkward”

“Yeah, I wish we had some stuff to do”

“What do you mean? We are talking”

“We are talking about the basic daily routine that everyone follows. This is probably the worst thing to talk about right now.”

“I think it’s best for us that we never see each other again”

“I think so too”

“It’s nothing personal”

“I know.”

“Well, goodbye random stranger”

“Goodbye”

Awkward conversation over.

So what did you see? You saw that entertainment has brought a big impact on humans. It does have some advantages and disadvantages, but you must know that all these jobs are important. Treat all of them equally. I’m not saying try them out. I’m just saying that give all these jobs the respect they deserve.

Except mercenaries. I don’t even think you should count them as jobs.
