My very long Kerala Trip

This trip was for 2 days in the middle of my school week in July 2025.
The whole family was supposed to go on a trip to Kerala for a temple trip. My grandmother wanted all of us to do tulabharam, which is basically where you weigh yourself, then you weigh the equivalent of that of a particular material and donate it to God.
The plan was that Srishti and I had to leave directly from school to Kerala. This meant that we had to change our clothes and basically freshen ourselves up in a claustrophobic setting. Fun! We ate instant noodles for snacks which were so good that I forgot I was changing my shirt in public.
The drive was long but time flew by till when we stopped at a hotel near Kerala. We settled there for the night, and took off the next day.
The next day's drive was shorter and we reached our hotel where we would meet my grandparents and immediately get ready to go to Guruvayur. This trip had no brakes, now that I'm reflecting on it.
During the temple visit, we saw cool things like elephants walking around a deity of Vishnu and each of us did our tulabharam with Jaggery. The waits in between were somewhat painful but nothing a few hours of annoying my sister couldn't fix. We said our prayers and went to eat dinner, then we walked back home.
The next day we did a lot of exploring to say the least.
We first went to my great-grandfather's temple we used to work in. It was fascinating to see his name written on the walls of the temple. The temple was also surprisingly peaceful. Usually a temple would be situated smack bang in the middle of the streets, shoes will be covering the whole temple entrance, and inside you'll have to be careful not to bump into one of the thousand people. This one was situated away from the streets in a tranquil spot, and about a maximum number of 30 people were present in total. It was a refreshing experience.
After the temple visit we then went to go drive around town. I got some sports jerseys along the way and we all only ate biryani for lunch which was not originally planned. We then went to the hospital where my dad was going to stay for the next 10 days. It was a small hospital and nothing like the hospitals you will see in urban areas. It seemed more like an apartment complex than a hospital.
We chilled in his room after travelling half the day... just to travel to another temple afterwards. I don't remember much about this temple so I'll just say that we said our prayers then left.
We then had an interesting walk around the village where my grandfather used to live as a child. There were tiny houses everywhere and it felt as if I travelled back in time.
We even saw the lake my grandfather used to bathe in. It was cool!
Finally we went and had dinner, said goodbye to my dad then left.
I understand this was a very short blog, but this trip was only 2 days long. There was not much to ramble about this time but I hope I made it entertaining enough for you to read it till the end.
